Elizabeth began playing violin at the age of 5. Although she only started lessons at the behest of her mother, she quickly became fascinated with the violin and with music-making in general. She was involved in a variety of orchestras and chamber groups throughout junior high and high school, including the Metropolitan Youth Symphony and the Youth Symphony of the Southwest. She was also a member of the Arizona All-State Orchestra in 2016, 2017, and 2018. Her string quartet, Perfect 4th Quartet, placed 2nd in the Arizona MusicFest Competition in 2016 and 2017. It was from these various experiences that Elizabeth fell in love with the violin and ultimately decided to pursue it as a career!
In her home state of Arizona, Elizabeth studied with Jing Zeng of the Phoenix Symphony. Most recently, she graduated from the University of Utah with a Bachelor's Degree in Violin Performance, working under the tutelage of Lenny Braus, former associate concertmaster of the Utah Symphony. Elizabeth plans to continue her studies and obtain a graduate degree in the near future!
As a teacher, Elizabeth seeks to foster in her students a love for music, while also encouraging their personal development and growth.
In addition to music, Elizabeth is an avid reader and thrifter. She and her husband can often be found buying one too many couches for their home, or spontaneously painting a wall!
Elizabeth teaches from her home studio in Bountiful, Utah.
